Menurut data Nielsem Soundscan, album 'Speak Now' milik Swift terjual sebanyak 1.047.000 kopi sejak dirilis pekan lalu. Jumlah tersebut sedikit lebih tinggi dibandingkan album 'Tha Carter III' dari Lil Wayne, yang terjual sebanyak 1.006.000 pada 2008.
Craig Marks, editor Billboard mengatakan, pencapaian yang diraih Swift mengukuhkan statusnya sebagai salah satu superstar yang paling penting dan berpengaruh.
''Apa yang dilakukannya sekarang, mungkin setara dengan penjualan 2 juta rekaman, atau bahkan lebih, enam tahun lalu. Ini merupakan prestasi yang luar biasa,'' katanya.
'Speak Now' merupakan album ketiga dari penyanyi berusia 20 tahun ini. Album pertamanya, 'Taylor Swift,' berhasil meraih multiplatinum. Sementara itu, album keduanya yang dirilis pada 2008, 'Fearless,' bukan hanya berhasil meraih mutiplatinum, melainkan juga menjaring banyak penghargaan termasuk empat Grammy, di antaranya untuk kategori album terbaik.
